OET works closely with the Oxford Brookes University
Insect Virus Research Group (IVRG) within the School of
Biological & Molecular Sciences. The IVRG is co-located
with OET in a purpose built suite of modern laboratories which
are well equipped for many aspects of molecular biology and
virology. The group also has access to all School facilities
including a state-of-the-art microscopy suite for confocal
and electron microscopy.
The IVRG is funded by a number of external sources, including:
- BBSRC grants and studentships
- NERC grants and studentships
- Wellcome Trust fellowships and studentships
- The Royal Society
- European Union
- Oxford Brookes University
- Oxford Expression Technologies

We also have a close partnership with the European Collection of Cell Cultures.
ECACC is a provider of high quality cell cultures and associated services to industry
and the academic research community. In partnership with ECACC,
we can offer a combined baculovirus expression service supporting
scaled up production. ECACC's Bioprocessing Group specialises
in developing scaled up animal cell culture processes. ECACC's
expertise in scaling up to volume production compliments OET's
leading position in baculovirus expression techniques. Together,
ECACC and OET can offer a complete service with the capability
to produce recombinant protein in quantities from 1L to multiples
of 100L.
